Giving to PMMA® – A Mission of Care
Charity is a well-known virtue. We believe it’s one of the most important of all.
Giving of yourself and your blessings to others not only helps you make a lasting difference in your own community—it also fills you with the joy of knowing you’re enhancing someone’s life with kindness and compassion. And that’s a beautiful thing.
PMMA was built from a mission to provide quality senior services guided by Christian values—it’s the driving force behind all we are and everything we do.
We share your wish to uplift others, and to leave the world better for your part in it.
Together, there’s so much we can accomplish toward this goal.
When you give to us, you’ll become a partner in our network of charitable programs and services. Plus, we’ll ensure your gifts go where they’re designated and deliver the maximum benefit to those they’re intended to support.
It’s time to supercharge your giving power.
Live, Work, Give – It’s the PMMA Way
It all started with one woman in need….
Alice Kalb, a 90-year-old widow from central Kansas went to the Presbyterian Church in 1947 with a request—to create a home for her to live in safety and security.
When many may have brushed her aside, the church listened and embraced Alice’s request.
That’s how and why our first Presbyterian Manor senior living community was built. Newton Presbyterian Manor opened in 1949.
From these humble roots, we’ve branched out over the years as our mission to serve has grown and flourished—but we’ve never lost sight of Alice’s simple wish that gave birth to our vision of care.
More than 75 years later, Alice’s dream remains the guiding light of our mission.
Today, we remain fueled by our unwavering commitment to provide comprehensive, top-quality senior services to those in need. Guided by Christian values, our focus is on fulfilling the needs of those we serve. At PMMA, we put people above profits and reinvest our revenue to improve and enhance our communities and offerings.
But we can’t do it alone.
Our mission is empowered by gracious benefactors like you, who enable us to reach even more who need our help, guidance, and support.
Your gifts of money, goods, services, and time buoy our mission and expand our reach. Because, together, we can truly transform lives for the better.
You Make All the Difference
PMMA exists because of people like you who believe in a mission to serve and make a difference in the lives of others.
With your generous donations of money and goods, or your gifts of your time, talents, and energy—you create the change you want to see in your community and embody the true values of a Christian life in love and service of others.
If you’re unsure how much of a difference you can make, we invite you to visit one of our communities to see these blessings at work firsthand.
Talk to our residents, learn their stories, discover the difference being a part of a PMMA community has made in their lives.
Then, when you feel called, reach out to make your own gift to PMMA. You can even earmark your donation to the community of your choice, so you can feel connected to the real people whose lives your gift is about to change.
We promise—no gesture is too small and every gift matters.
Imagine the sense of joy and fulfillment you’ll feel, knowing you made a real, lasting difference in the life of a senior in your community…
Picture using your talents and gifts to improve the lives of others, and sharing your abundance to bless the lives of those in need…
The act of giving not only benefits the receiver—the blessings of kindness and stewardship flow in both directions.
Ways to Give
The following are just a few of the programs we offer to help fulfill our mission thanks to the ongoing support of our benefactors.
Good Samaritan Program
Established in 1947, the Good Samaritan Program provides funding to assist residents who outlive their resources. Thanks to this program, PMMA is proud that no resident has ever been asked to leave one of our communities based on their inability to pay.
Life Enrichment Programs
Life Enrichment Programs provide our valued residents with outlets to continue to grow as people. They also offer opportunities for stimulation and engagement to help our residents enjoy active and productive lives.
Art is Ageless® Program
Through Art is Ageless®, PMMA offers seniors a variety of artistic classes and programs to reaffirm the agelessness of human creativity. Each year, the program culminates in a juried art competition, with winning entries featured in a calendar and set of limited-edition greeting cards.
One More Time Program
This program brings joy and meaning to those nearing the end of life by making wishes come true. From bringing family together for one last visit to crossing an item off a bucket list; each One More Time moment creates lasting memories for all involved. The program is funded solely through private gifts.
Employee Scholarship Program
At PMMA, we believe our employees are our most valuable resource. To attract and retain the very best talent in the industry, private donors established an endowment to assist employees seeking to gain certifications, licensure, or degrees from accredited educational programs. Each year, the program awards eligible employees funds towards tuition, books, or fees.
