PMMA (Presbyterian Manors of Mid-America®) has named Courtney Plantz as the senior living provider’s new president effective July 1, 2026. Plantz is the first woman to serve as president in PMMA’s 77 year history.
The transition is part of a long-term continuity plan. Bruce Shogren has been with PMMA, headquartered in Wichita, for 30 years, 15 as president and CEO. He chose to step down from the president role but will remain involved in high-level matters and strategic leadership.
“It’s time to step away from day to day operations and enjoy life with my family and grandchildren,” says Shogren. “I will be around during the transition, supporting Courtney and her exceptional ability to build strong relationships.”
During his tenure, he helped lead the development and opening of Aberdeen Village in Olathe, Kan. and of Aberdeen Heights in Kirkwood, Mo., oversaw the repositioning of Wichita Presbyterian Manor, and guided the expansion currently underway at Salina Presbyterian Manor. He looks forward to the upcoming grand opening of Aberdeen Ridge in Colorado Springs in June.
Plantz began her career with PMMA in 2002 as a part-time receptionist at Wichita Presbyterian Manor. She earned her bachelor’s degree in health administration and became a licensed nursing home administrator. She returned to Wichita Presbyterian Manor as executive director 2017 and was promoted to operations regional director in 2022.

As PMMA’s president, Plantz will oversee all business aspects of PMMA’s operations, and work closely with senior leadership. As the new face of PMMA, Plantz will prioritize connection across all communities.
“There’s a great need for presence in our communities – our staff and residents need to know who their leadership team is and who their president is. I want to ensure that they’ve seen my face and feel supported.”
