If you’re looking for a meaningful way to make a difference, here’s your opportunity.

PMMA (Presbyterian Manors of Mid-America®) is launching its annual Employee Scholarship Appeal—an initiative that helps our dedicated employees realize their educational dreams.

At PMMA, our mission to provide quality senior services is made possible through the passion and commitment of our team. Every day, our employees bring compassion, drive, and excellence to the care they provide in our communities. They are the heart of PMMA—and many of our residents and their families deeply appreciate and cherish them.

Now, you have the chance to show your appreciation by giving to the Employee Scholarship Program, which is funded entirely through donations.

To date, more than 700 PMMA employees have received scholarships that helped them reach their educational and career goals. Among them is Emily Trask, Executive Director at Newton Presbyterian Manor, whose educational journey has been one of determination.

“I dropped out of high school and…later, got my GED. I was 17,” says Emily. “I had my children when I was 19 and 22, so I put school on hold to work and raise them.”

Emily originally wanted to be a nurse, so she obtained a CNA license (Certified Nursing Assistant). “But God had other plans for me,” she says.

In time, Emily earned both her associate and bachelor’s degrees. “My education journey has been rough, but I knew how important [it] was for my future success – but also for my daughters to see that success.”

Ultimately, she realized nursing wasn’t her calling but she continued to work in healthcare settings. Eventually she discovered a passion for senior living and became interested in becoming a licensed nursing home administrator.

“When I first applied for the Administrator in Training program, I wasn’t sure how I was going to come up with the money,” Emily remembers. “Thankfully, through the PMMA Employee Scholarship Program, I qualified to receive reimbursement.”

The Employee Scholarship Program provides financial support for PMMA team members pursuing certification, licensure, or a degree. It also offers assistance with student loan repayment for new employees. These scholarships can be life-changing opportunities.

“Your support didn’t just ease the financial burden – it empowered me,” says Emily. “Your investment is already creating a ripple effect, and I plan to continue paying it forward.”
