From famous film scores to classical cello, to The Beatles, this fall’s Osher Series at Lawrence Presbyterian Manor features a musical journey.

Thanks to an ongoing partnership with the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at the University of Kansas, residents and friends of Lawrence Presbyterian Manor have the opportunity to learn about three legendary musicians in this fall’s series Exploring Musical Genius: Three Composers.

The first two event were scheduled for September 16 and September 23. They featured John Williams, a composer, conductor, and pianist whose work is featured in many of the most successful Hollywood movies, including Star Wars, Jaws, and Home Alone and world-renowned cellist, and conductor YoYo Ma.

Paul McCartney

Sir Paul McCartney needs no introduction. This exploration into his life and musical career will take us from his work with the Beatles to his solo performances.

All events will be presented by instructor Jean Hein and held at Lawrence Presbyterian Manor.

These Osher Series events are part of Presbyterian Manor’s Just Ask Continuing Education Series featuring speakers and topics of interest to seniors and their adult children.
