DESCRIPTION:From famous film scores to classical cello\, to The Beatles\, this fall’s Osher Series at Lawrence Presbyterian Manor features a musical journey. \nThanks to an ongoing partnership with the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at the University of Kansas\, residents and friends of Lawrence Presbyterian Manor have the opportunity to learn about three legendary musicians in this fall’s series Exploring Musical Genius: Three Composers. \nSeptember 16\, 2-4 p.m.\nJohn Williams \nJohn Williams is a composer\, conductor\, and pianist whose work is featured in many of the most successful Hollywood movies\, including Star Wars\, Jaws\, and Home Alone. Join us for a joyful exploration “to a galaxy far\, far away.” \nSeptember 23\, 2-4 p.m.\nYoYo Ma \nExplore the music and artistry of world-renowned cellist YoYo Ma and how his upbringing and appreciation for the music of different cultures helps preserve musical traditions.  \nSeptember 30\, 2-4 p.m.\nPaul McCartney \nSir Paul McCartney needs no introduction.
