Volunteering prepares student for career

By Danecia Williams, Activities Coordinator

Where is all of that laughing coming from? It’s coming from the activity room in health care. Well, it’s Anne Maupin playing games with the residents. Anne has been volunteering for us since February 2006. “I love volunteering here. My grandmother, Mary Kate Rampey, lived here in 2004; I loved the nice and pleasant environment so I thought I would volunteer here for my required volunteer hours to graduate from Wichita State University with a bachelor’s in Social Work.”

Anne is going into Social Work because she loves helping people solve their problems. When she graduates she plans to work with adults and maturing adults. We appreciate all you do, Anne, and good luck with your plans.
