Assisted living resident Margaret McHugh has lived at the Manor for 16 years.

She was an only child born at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn., on March 25, 1911.

She attended Wilson College in Chambersburg, Pa., then went to the University of Kansas to earn a bachelor’s degree degree in mathematics.

Margaret graduated in 1933 at the age of 22, which was almost unheard of in those days. When she was 32 years old, she married William E. McHugh. Together they had two children: William A. McHugh and Mary Lynn Heidt (Mimi). Today, they have three grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Margaret participates in a variety of activities at the Manor. She is active in her women’s group at church, as well as the Red Hat Society. She attends many trips and social events and loves to dine out.

“Living at the Manor gives me a sense of security. I don’t have to worry about who is going to take care of me if something should happen; the Manor has areas that will take care of me for the rest of my life,” she said.
