 Home | Recent News | Wichita | Edna Mae Sites 12 May 2006 Resident Profile: Edna Mae Sites is in our Resident Spotlight Edna Mae moved to the Manor on March 7, 1991, after selling her home sooner than expected. “I called Presbyterian Manor to see what they had available and soon found myself living in a one-bedroom apartment in Cottage 7.” Shortly after, a two-bedroom apartment opened in Cottage 7 and Edna Mae moved in. Edna Mae now happily lives in Cottage 9 where she is good friends with all her neighbors. Family: Edna Mae was only married seven years when her husband died. After her husband’s death, Edna Mae went back to work for eight more years before selling her house. Edna Mae also has two cousins living in Wichita who are younger and still working and two cousins living in California whom she frequently speaks with by phone. What do you enjoy most about living at the Manor: “I enjoy the tours by bus as I do not like driving the car. I like playing cards and canasta and pinochle especially. I really enjoy the special weekly programs are very interesting, too,” says Edna Mae. What are your hobbies: One of Edna Mae’s passions is collecting aluminum can tabs. “I collect tabs to help raise money for Ronald McDonald House. This allows parents to stay close to their hospitalized children,” says Edna Mae.
