Through the generosity of a gift from the estate of former resident Kay Kane, the Manor was able to undertake the remodeling project of the activity and dinning rooms to create a home environment for the residents who live at the Manor. The Kay Kane Kountry Kitchen enables residents to not only enjoy making a favorite family recipe or just gather around the kitchen table with a cup of coffee--just like home. “Kay Kane left a special legacy here at Presbyterian Manor,” said Mike Rajewski, executive director. “The Manor was her home and she chose to benefit all of the residents present and future with her gift." The Soda Shop, where residents can order up a favorite float or shake, has specific staffed hours. A buffet area will also allow for social gatherings and special events such as cookouts or catered dinners. In addition, the dining room now has the look of a restaurant to enhance the dining experience for residents and their guests. As an active living and wellness community, the remodeling focused on ways to make the health care center a place where residents can enjoy the amenities that we think of when we speak of our “home”. Wood laminate floors, window treatments and even light fixtures have brought a warm home environment to the Manor.
