Salina Art is Ageless winners announced

The Salina Manor held its annual Art is Ageless exhibit Aug. 14 to 18. The exhibit is an extension of the Art is Ageless calendar contest, which celebrates its 26th anniversary this year. Presbyterian Manors of Mid-America, the parent organization of Salina Presbyterian Manor, began the competition in 1980 as a way to showcase the talents of residents and employees.

First place entries in each category will be submitted to the systemwide contest for the 2007 calendar.

Winners in the Salina juried exhibit are:

Painting

  • First place: “A Peek at the Flint Hills” by Perry Hunsley
  • Second place: “Cardinal in the Den” by Perry Hunsley
  • Third place: “Salad Plate and Fruit Salad” by Wanda Patterson

Needlework

  • First: “Hummels” by Margaret Crowl
  • Second: “Delicate Roses” by Kathlyn Schoof

Mixed media

  • First: “Sunflower Set” by Kathlyn Schoof

Fiber arts

  • First: “Stained Glass Pansies” by Betty Rassette
