Home | Recent News | Salina | Manor Country Store 01 Apr 2006 Volunteers at heart of Manor Country StoreThe Manor’s Country Store has been in operation for as long as anyone can remember, and thanks to the many volunteers who help run it, it continues to be a place where residents can pick up items they need and mingle with each other. The store is open Monday through Friday from 1 to 2 p.m. Cards, candies, staples and gifts are always in stock. The biggest sellers are bathroom and facial tissue. Residents may order special items. They need to write down the brand name and size if applicable and give it to the volunteer at the Country Store. If they also write down their name, residents will be contacted when the item comes in. The store is run by these dedicated volunteers who greet customers, handle payments and make sure enough stock in always on hand: Margaret Crowl, Lois Sweley, Doris Wyatt, Ivis Meitler, Caroline Ramsey, Lori Allen, Fern McCall, Don Hammerli, Ruth Viets, Pat Hoops, Ruth Weeks, Alla Rose Winsett, Mary Ann Gebhart and Wilma Plummer. We appreciate all the work performed by these volunteers. New volunteers or substitutes are always welcomed. Contact Volunteer Coordinator Jason Herndon for details on how you can become involved. Volunteering at the Country Store is an excellent way to get to know all the residents at the Manor. Word has it the Country Store stocks the best cards for any occasion!
