Shaping Tomorrow Renovation and Expansion update

Things are really “shaping up” on the Manor campus as a result of the Shaping Tomorrow renovation and expansion project. Residents moved into the brand new assisted living apartments in May and have been enjoying the larger apartments and other amenities.

Renovation work continues on the former assisted living hallway to create the Milton L. Morrison Memory Support Center which is slated to open to residents on October 27. Progress in the health care center is steady and our dream of all private rooms will soon be a reality. The new construction at the end of each hall is complete and renovations on the existing North hall are coming to a close. Once the renovations are complete in that area, crews will move to Center than South halls respectively. The entire project is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2006.

In addition to the larger project, we have been blessed to generate enough funding, in part from the Eldon V. Miller Charitable Trust, to redecorate the Manor’s Chapel. New stained glass panels, backlights, new chairs, cabinetry and carpeting make the Chapel a wonderful place to worship.

Our active living apartment homes are also getting facelifts. Each home is fully renovated with new cabinets, doors, woodwork, appliances, flooring, and ceiling fans as they become available for a new occupant. Hope you can stop in to see the upgrades!

We are currently looking for new neighbors in the Memory Support Center so we have a full neighborhood when we open at the end of October. Call 785-825-1366 or stop by at 2601 East Crawford, for more information. You may also email marketing director, Sharon Kibbe at .
