Home | Recent News | Salina | Construction Continues 01 May 2006 Construction continues to progress, new assisted living apartments completeWe are in the process of moving assisted living residents to their new apartments after which, the renovation to develop the Milton L. Morrison Memory Support Center will begin. The Support Center will feature 16 redecorated accommodations, an activity room and a dining room. If there are no interruptions to the current schedule the Support Center, which expands the services the Manor is able to offer, will be ready for new residents sometime in July. Currently also still under construction is the expansion of the three wings of the health care center which will result in 24 new private rooms. When the new space is completed, we will move residents to these accommodations and begin remodeling existing rooms. These accommodations will be grouped in three distinct neighborhoods. Each neighborhood will have a living room, dining room and kitchen. The residents will enjoy a calm, quite environment shared by 18 to 22 people rather than the 60 they now share their space with. All of the resident rooms will be private, another accommodation that will contribute to a more home-like environment. The health care center remodel is to be completed by late October. An important aspect of the project is the redecoration of the corridors and halls of the renovated areas. Beautifully coordinated colors and textures of wall covering, floor covering and furniture have been selected. The end result will allow the delivery of contemporary expanded services to the residents who have chosen Presbyterian Manor of Salina as their home.
