- Best of Show: “Night Capitol”, a watercolor painting by Jack Gillam of Salina;
- First Place, Painting: “Sunrise on the Cottonwoods”, an oil painting by Jan Schoen, Cawker City, KS
- First Place, Mixed Media/Crafts: “Hummingbird”, a stained glass piece by Don Smischny of Salina, a resident at the Manor;
- First Place, Needlework: “White on White”, a hand-stitched quilt by Hazel Beggs of Salina, a resident of the Manor;
“We were pleased to see so many in the community visit the exhibit and turn out for the reception to meet the artists this year,” said Fair. Judges for the local competition were Karla Prickett, Visual Arts Coordinator for the Salina Arts and Humanities Commission, and Martha Rhea, former Director of the Salina Arts and Humanities Commission and a member of the Salina Presbyterian Manor Advisory Committee. These winners will be submitted via digital photography to the Presbyterian Manors home office to be judged against entries from throughout the Presbyterian Manors system of 17 not-for-profit communities in Kansas and Missouri. The Art is Ageless Exhibit is an extension of the Art is Ageless calendar contest, an annual tradition of Presbyterian Manors of Mid-America, the parent organization of Presbyterian Manor of Salina. A contest to select works for the calendar, which represents retirement communities throughout the Presbyterian Manor system, began in 1980 and has been held annually since. With the addition of the local exhibit for the preliminary judging, the purpose is to generate positive awareness that aging may include finding new talents as we find the time to pursue interests set aside during our working years.
