Home | Recent News | Parsons | Christmas Party 01 Dec 2006 Christmas party honors past, present and future The Manor’s annual Christmas party, to be held on Thursday evening, Dec. 14, will be based on the traditional novel, “A Christmas Carol.” Earlier this month, Manor staff began collecting photos from family members. The photos show residents enjoying a “Christmas past” (as long ago as possible) and a “Christmas present” (as recent as possible). The photos are being used to make collages to decorate for the party. The Christmas party is a time to invite friends or family to join you for a delicious Manor meal — and to enjoy the festivities. Be sure to tell us how many guests you expect. Manor staff, residents, and guests are encouraged to dress in attire befitting the 1880s Victorian era represented in the novel. Costume ideas for ladies include long skirts, button-top shoes, long-sleeved blouses with pouf or mutton-top styling, and a shawl. Costume ideas for gentlemen include a top hat, a morning coat (short in front, long in back with tails), a vest and tie or ascot. Other ideas would include mittens, a muffler or woolen scarf, a woolen cap or a cane. In addition, Santa will be on hand to present each Manor resident with a special gift. So mark your calendars and watch for more details.
