Entries of artistic works will be accepted from any area artist who is 65 years of age or older to exhibit and/or compete for the opportunity to be featured in the 2008 Art is Ageless calendar.
“Presbyterian Manors chose two years ago to open entries to all artists who are seniors in our area because this is a celebration of art and ageless in the nature of creativity.” said Mark Johnston, marketing director.
Entry forms and information are available at Presbyterian Manor, 3501 Dirr and at the Parsons Senior Center. You may request entry information and forms by contacting Mark Johnston at 620-421-1450 or by email at mjohnston@pmma.org. Entry forms will also be available to download from the web site at presbyterianmanor.org/Art is Ageless 2007. Artists need to have been 65 or older when the work was created and works need to have been created in the past five years. There are seven categories for works and up to three entries may be made by a single artist with no more than two entries in the same category. Works to be entered for judging need to be at Parsons Presbyterian Manor by July 15. Artists also may choose to enter the exhibit only.
Art is Ageless began in 1980 as a competition for residents and employees throughout the Presbyterian Manors system to appear in an annual calendar. Since then the competition has grown to encompass preliminary judging and exhibits at each of the 17 Manors, with winners in each category sent via slide photography to the corporate offices in Wichita for final judging.
