Presbyterian Manor of Lawrence Nominated For Quality First Award

WICHITA, KS - Presbyterian Manor of Lawrence was nominated for a Human Resources Development Quality First Award by the Kansas Association of Homes and Services for the Aging (KAHSA).

The Human Resources Development Quality First Award is designed to honor a not-for-profit retirement community which provides an innovative, supportive workplace environment through exceptional practices in need-based staffing, innovative training, creative benefits and caregiver support.

Presbyterian Manor of Lawrence was nominated for its “Safety Matters” employee program. The Manor has achieved more than four years without a lost day of work from an accident or injury. A representative from each department serves on the safety committee, which works closely with residents and staff to provide a day-to-day outlet for the expression of ideas and safety improvement observations. The Manor has implemented a written purpose that provides vision and direction, set common goals, has committed to staff training and development, clear communication and continuous quality improvement.

KAHSA is a statewide association of more than 160 nonprofit long-term care organizations and retirement communities. Its mission is to provide services to members to assist them in enhancing the quality of life of the elders they serve. This year KAHSA is celebrating the sixteenth year of the Quality First Awards of Excellence for outstanding programs at member organizations.
