Newton welcomes new executive director

Richard “Rich” Heim has been named executive director of Presbyterian Manor – Newton, effective Oct. 6.

Heim comes to PMMA from Kidron Bethel Village in North Newton where he has served for almost 10 years as president and CEO. Rich brings 29 years’ experience in long-term care to his new position at the Manor. He is experienced in resident-centered care and an advocate for the household concept of resident service here.

Rich received a bachelor’s degree from Tabor College in Hillsboro and a master's degree in health care administration from Central Michigan State University.

“I am pleased to be taking a leadership role at Newton Presbyterian Manor. I know the Manor’s reputation for excellence from a resident and employee perspective,” said Heim. “I look forward to working, side by side with all the staff and volunteers that make the Manor what it is, and I particularly look forward to serving the many fine residents of the Manor.”

Rich is married and has three adult children and three grandchildren. He and his wife are members of Hesston Mennonite Brethren Church and enjoy camping in their fifth-wheel RV. Rich also enjoys hunting, fishing and reading.
