Employees pledge $23,000 to campaign

In an effort to support a project they care deeply about, a number of Manor employees have chosen to monetarily support the Shaping Tomorrow campaign through payroll deduction pledges. The Shaping Tomorrow staff campaign co-chairs Kristy Brunk, Jennie Perez and Jennifer Peterson led the effort to encourage contributions. Why did employees donate? According to Jennifer Peterson, “At the end of this, the Manor will not only be a better place for our residents to live but it will be a better place for me to work.”

Many employees echoed the sentiment of Jennie Perez who said, “I feel this campaign is important because it will enhance the quality of the way our clients live. The reason I am giving is because Presbyterian Manor has done a lot for me in the seven-and-a-half years I have worked here such as helping me pay for my education and working with my schedule when I needed it the most. Also, if my family member lived here, I would want them to have the best place to live, and I feel the Manor is and will be even a better place to live when we get done with our renovation.”

When asked why she participated in the campaign, Kristy Brunk said, “my decision to co-chair this campaign and to donate to the capital campaign fund is based solely on my personal convictions and desire to make Presbyterian Manor a better place for residents to live. I am proud to be a part of this organization because the values that we promote and the morals that we stand by in creating a living environment for our residents is genuine and resident-centered. The renovations that will be taking place soon are going to create a home for our residents that will give them a greater sense of belonging, importance, comfort and independence. I not only feel like I am a part of making this a better home for our residents, but I am also growing as an individual because I am contributing to something that is bigger than myself.”

Executive Director Shawn Sullivan added, “Thank you to Manor staff contributing to the campaign. The $23,000 contributed is fantastic! They have shown how much they care about Presbyterian Manor becoming an even better home for our residents.”
