Advisory committee welcomes members

October 1, 2005

Presbyterian Manor of Newton recently welcomed five people to the Manors. Each will serve a three-year term. The new members are Susan Koehn, Father Floyd McKinney, Betty Richert and Harold Schorn. Shawn Sullivan, executive director, said, “The new members bring a wealth of experience and expertise to the Advisory Committee. We are pleased they have agreed to volunteer for this committee which is an integral part of our Manor community.” Judge Ted Ice and Becky Davidson have agreed to serve an additional three-year term. New officers are Duane Graham, chair; Dr. Dale Griswold, vice-chair; and Pat Morton, secretary. We thank outgoing members Dr. Colin Bailey, Karen Monroe, Lois Prater and Lou Sturm for their years of dedication to the Manor mission.

The advisory committee serves many purposes and is a liaison between the Manor and the surrounding community. Each committee member serves on at least one of five sub-committees: leadership/ nominating, volunteer recruitment, wellness program, physical environment or church relations. Each subcommittee works with a Manor employee to accomplish the purpose of the subcommittee and thus further the Manor’s mission.
