After such a dry winter and spring, the rain finally came…just in time for Apple Blossom Festival 2006. Although we missed having the Manor’s stately building as the backdrop for the evening’s events, the Harvey County Fairgrounds proved to be a fine dry space for the broad variety of activities held this year. |  | | The Newton Community Children’s Choir entertains at the Apple Blossom Festival. |
The entertainment of local groups is always a highlight and the stands were full again this year. St. Luke Presbyterian Church youth made the carnival a special event with their enthusiastic volunteers. Staff and area businesses donated items for 20 themed baskets this year, raising nearly $1,000. The staff wishes to thank the many businesses who donated services, products and gift certificates for this special evening. Many other businesses support the festival as sponsors.
