Spencer Museum offers special sessions for seniors

Beginning Thursday, May 4, the Spencer Museum of Art will offer informal gallery discussions for senior citizens on Thursdays from May 4 to June 22, from 10 to 11 a.m. The actual talks will last about 40 minutes with a cushion of 20 minutes time allowing for visitors to situate themselves or to browse the galleries. Chairs will be provided during discussions for the comfort of the guests.

Each session will have a theme. The discussions will focus on no more than two works of art each time.

Topics may include:

  • Jealous Lovers
  • Glass to Fiberglass
  • Two Swell Gals
  • Remember the ’40s
  • What a Contrast!
  • An Original and a Copy
  • Let’s go Dutch
  • Do I See Brillo Pads?

The talks are meant to be informal yet informative and for the most part, fun. This is an experimental program. To ensure its success, the museum is asking for feedback. All talks are free and open to the public. For more information, call the docent office at the Spencer Museum of Art at 864-0125.

The Manor van will be available. Please sign up in the business office.
