Lawrence Arts Center trip scheduled

Thirty-eight works from the Emprise Bank permanent art collection will be on display in the Lawrence Arts Center Gallery starting July 21.

Among the works will be paintings, prints, drawings and photographs by such widely known artists as Grant Wood, Ralph Steadman, David Salle, Gordon Parks, Michael McClure, Karl Mattern, Keith Jacobshagen, John Steuart Curry, Robert Cottingham and Edward Burtynsky.

Bank owner Michael Michaelis created the collection. His office on the top floor of the Emprise Bank Center in Wichita sports many of his favorite pieces among the 800-item collection he has amassed since 1970. The collection, known as “The Art of Emprise” features mostly Kansas artists.

The Manor van will be available to take residents to the exhibit on Thursday, July 27. The van will leave from the ground floor entrance at 2:30 p.m. Please sign up in the business office if you wish to go.
