Unique opportunity prompts hands-on animal education

We enjoyed several visitors one Wednesday morning during September.

Volunteers from the Kansas City Zoo brought a chinchilla, African hissing cockroaches, a parrot and a wood boa.

We had the opportunity to touch or pet everything but the cockroaches. We also learned quite a bit about the animals and their natural habitat and lifestyles. Also displayed were hides of an elephant, zebra, tiger, kangaroo and sea lion.
