By Monica Meek Kansas City Marketing Director Thirty years of service is not only a dedication to a career, it’s a dedication to success. Beckie Brownback, director of dining services, Presbyterian Manor – Kansas City, lives this dedication. Brownback arrived in March 1979 at the age of 16, moving up the ranks to fill one of the most important positions at the Manor. She was a natural choice for the Heroes in Healthcare award from Ingram’s magazine. Ingram’s is a prominent magazine circulated throughout the Kansas City area. Joe Sweeney, publisher and editor-in-chief, said, “These are people who contribute to the health care industry above and beyond the call of duty.” Brownback is well known for going “above and beyond the call of duty.” She has built a strong staff and has nurtured strong individuals among this staff. “Currently I have 27 employees, I love watching them grow, develop and change. We are a close-knit group, and we are very invested in each other,” she said. “I have built a great team and am proud of my employees.” Executive Director Bob Richards said, “She truly is here for the best interests of the residents.”
