Village to host annual fundraiser dinner, auction

Presbyterian Village of Fort Scott will host its annual Good Samaritan Fund benefit dinner and auction on Wednesday, April 25 from 4:30-7:30 p.m. We will be serving Chicken Annie’s Dinners complete with homemade dessert and drinks throughout the evening. In addition to the auction items, we will be drawing for one lucky pair to win a seven-day cruise at the end of the evening.

Entertainment during the dinner and silent auction will be provided by the Fort Scott High School string ensemble from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. The silent and live auctions will begin at 5:30 p.m.

If you can’t join us for the whole evening, we are offering drive-thru service for dinner and free local delivery for orders of 10 or more dinners provided arrangements are made in advance by calling 620-223-5550.

Tickets for the dinners are $6.00 each in advance, $7.00 at the door. Only a very limited number of tickets are available at the door, so be sure to get your tickets early.

Tickets for an opportunity to win the cruise are a suggested donation of $5.00 each or 3 tickets for $10.00. The cruise drawing tickets will be sold until just before the drawing takes place at the end of the evening. The trip is fully transferable, so if you don’t like to cruise, or need a different trip date, or want to give the cruise to friends or family, you have that option.

In case of inclement weather, the event will be moved indoors at the village. Assistance with parking will be available.

All proceeds raised for the Good Samaritan fund will assist those residents at the Village who have outlived their financial resources to continue to receive the care that they need. In the Villages 12 years, no resident has been asked to leave due to exhausting their financial resources. This is possible through generous donations from the community and from events such as this on April 25. The Presbyterian Manor communities take pride in our mission: To provide Christian-based retirement living and care services through a continuum of care, dedicated to the values of service, respect, dignity, and independence. Be sure to get your tickets early and come on out and have a great time with us!
