Residents enjoy time in the garden

Staff and residents got their garden gear out to clean our raised garden plots and prepare them for the strawberry plants we plan on growing this year.

Residents had a lot of work ahead of them as they kept busy cleaning out the weeds that seemed to grow by the minute. Staff members assisted by getting the weeds’ roots loose so that the residents had an easier time pulling up the weeds. Resident Dorothy Love stated that there were sure a lot of weeds to be pulled, and staff members joked that residents did a wonderful job growing the weeds.

Resident Ruby Clevenger laughed and said that the residents didn’t plant these weeds, they just grew there on their own. Everyone looks forward to planting strawberries, which will need plenty of water and fertilizer. Resident Dorothy Love is one of the many residents who are eager to grow fresh strawberries, along with the performing the necessary work to keep the plants thriving.

We’ll keep everyone informed about how our plants end up doing. Hopefully, we be eating of plenty of yummy strawberries within a couple of months.
