Home | Recent News | Fort Scott | Start off The Summer with Practical Fun 06 Jun 2008 Village hosts two workshops this month to start off the summer with practical fun!Presbyterian Village will host two fun workshops in June that are open to anyone who wishes to attend. On Saturday, June 21, at 10:30 a.m., Barbara McCord, horticultural therapist, will teach a hands-on class called Hypertufa Pot Making. At this workshop, you’ll learn to make a flower or herb garden pot from cement, vermiculite and peat moss. These are fun to make and a useful addition for your own “horticultural therapy” when completed. Participants are urged to wear old clothing for this workshop. On Saturday, June 28, at 10:30 a.m., Lori Davis has volunteered to lead us in a class called Herbal Bathworks. This is also a hands-on class where you’ll learn to make bars of soap you can enjoy in a bath or display for decoration and “aroma therapy.” These bars of soap are refreshing to use when cooling off at the end of a hot summer’s day and also make a great gift. There will be a nominal fee to cover the supplies for this class. Both of these workshops provide a fun way to get into the days of summer and you’ll have something useful as well. Class sizes are limited for each workshop, so make your reservation for one or both workshops early! Contact Presbyterian Village at 620-223-5550 or via email.
