Life-long Fort Scott resident Jackie Hardy, moved to Presbyterian Village in April 2006. At the Village, she is known for her ready smile and sharing the joy in her heart with all she encounters. The daughter of Albert and Fontella Hill, Mrs. Hardy, like many women of her generation, focused on her family for much of her life. First her parents and brother Donald, and then her family, as she raised two sons, Jerry and Lawrence. She attended Fort Scott High School and Fort Scott Community College where she majored in home economics. This came in handy with two boys to keep up with as a homemaker. Now, her sons live in Seattle, WA and Peru, so for Mrs. Hardy, life at the Manor means not only peace of mind for her, but also for the boys who know she has friends around her and help if she should need it. Mrs. Hardy began looking at her options as the house was becoming more to take care of by herself than she felt she could handle. Her apartment at the Village suits her just fine and gives her time to enjoy her hobby of fabric painting. She also enjoys doing puzzles. Mrs. Hardy's favorite color is purple and she loves chili. We hope she'll share her hobby with us at one of the craft sessions in the near future.
