Gifts enable grounds enhancements

Have you noticed some pleasant changes around the pond? The improvements were made possible by a wonderful gift from the late Cliff Gordan. Cliff believed in the mission of Presbyterian Manors and the specific needs of Fort Scott Presbyterian Village. A generous bequest from his estate allows us to make needed enhancements to the pond and patio area, as well as construct a new garage for the van.

The patio outside the dining room was expanded to accommodate larger gatherings, and a new path extending to the pond allows tenants to fish or simply enjoy a closer view of the pond. The new black iron fence secures the area around the pond and creates a beautiful outline of the water and trees.

We are in the process of adding a garage to house the van purchased last year, which was made possible through estate gifts from Tot and Maxine Coyan and David Horn. The garage will protect the van from the elements and help us to maintain it better.

These improvements and special projects are truly gifts at work. Thank you to the many people like Cliff Gordon, Tot and Maxine Coyan, and David Horn, who see the worthiness of our mission. We hope tenants and guests will take a moment to enjoy the new landscape around the patio and pond or appreciate the quality transportation provided by thoughtful supporters.

The Village strives to ensure that these funds are used in ways that will improve the quality of life for each and every one who chooses to make Presbyterian Village his or her home. All donations to Fort Scott Presbyterian Village remain local.
