Christmas Fun

December is one of the best months to plan activities because there are so many fun things to do. We will be doing many things that may “sparkle” your interest this month as we decorate and top the tree with our finest star on Dec. 2.

On Dec. the 3 at 2 p.m., the Winfield Scott Fifth Grade Ensemble will be here to sing. Nothing makes you smile more than to hear children sing Christmas songs.

“Dashing Through The Snow” we’ll shout as “Rudolph” helps us travel to the famous Christmas Light Tour in Carthage, Mo., on Dec. 4.

We will make Ice Cream Cone Christmas Trees filled while singing “Silver Bells” on the 9th at 2:30 p.m. in the community room.

From the outskirts of Bourbon County comes the Uniontown Community Choir. They will host a Christmas Cantata at 2 p.m. Dec. 14 in the community room.

On Dec. 15 at 2 p.m., we will be using old Christmas cards to make different styles of ornaments as we “Jingle Bell Rock.”

There will be no “scrooges” here on Dec. 16 after hearing from Jane Williams High School Ensemble in the main lobby during lunchtime (11:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.). Their performance is sure to warm the heart of everyone in the room.

On the 19th, we will sample some traditional holiday drinks such as eggnog and wassail while listening to Bing Crosby’s “White Christmas,” a favorite of most. We won’t be seeing “Mommy Kissing Santa Claus,” however, as the eggnog won’t contain rum this time around. We would love to have you join us for any of these activities. Contact Rita to make arrangements and let’s have some Christmas fun together.

If we aren’t in the mood for Christmas by then, we’re sure to turn into Santa himself after the First Nazarene Youth group comes to carol for the tenants on Dec. 19 at 5:30 p.m.

We’d love to have you join us for any and all of these events.
