4th District State Representative of Kansas, Shirley Palmer, is sponsoring get-togethers for both Linn and Bourbon County residents on Friday, January 11, 2008. The purpose of each meeting is to give both Linn and Bourbon county residents a chance to visit with their State Representative and share concerns, ideas, and or suggestions with her before she reports back for the Kansas Legislative Session on January 14th in Topeka.
Representative Palmer has also made arrangements for discussion concerning Senior Citizens and their needs. She has arranged for an individual to be present from the Kansas Department on Aging to discuss the topic: "Empowering Seniors To Prevent Healthcare Fraud” and “How to Prevent Identity Theft.” The Kansas Department on Aging works hard to prevent Medicare and Medicad Fraud and errors through outreach and education seminars. These should be very informative meetings and all interested people are invited and encouraged to attend the location of their choice, according to Palmer.
The meetings will take place in two different locations. The Linn County location will be from 10:00 - 11:30 at the LaCygne Public Library in LaCygne, Kansas. The Bourbon County location will be from 1:30 - 3:00 and will take place at the Presbyterian Village, 2401 Horton Street, Fort Scott, Kansas.
If questions, call Rep. Palmer at 620-223-4105 or e-mail her at: rspalmer1862@sbcglobal.net
The public is invited. Mark your calendar now for Friday, January 11.
