Home | Recent News | Farmington | Veterans Day Breakfast 28 Nov 2008 Veterans Day BreakfastOn a cold November morning in Farmington, Missouri approximately 120 Presbyterian Manor residents, local veterans and their guests attended the annual Veterans Day breakfast. The special event honored both the resident veterans and veterans from the community who have served our country in the armed forces. With great team effort the staff at Presbyterian Manor cleaned up healthcare morning breakfast service and transformed the dining room from a 65 person service to seating for 130. Additional chairs, tables, decorations, silverware, favors and programs were all set and ready for the first guest arriving at 9:00 am. Jane Hull, Executive Director of the Manor, welcomed the veterans and led the Pledge of Allegiance. Prior to breakfast service, Activities Assistant, Thera Lopez, sang the Star Spangled Banner and Manor Chaplain, Wayne Leftridge, gave the blessing. The kitchen and staff from all departments served a scrumptious breakfast of fruit salad, omelet, biscuits and gravy and bacon. As in past Veterans Day programs, all Manor veterans were recognized with a carnation. Joy Howard, Social Services Designee, read each veteran’s name, branch, duties and years of service. The men and women of Presbyterian Manor of Farmington were stationed in far away places such as Italy, Germany, England, Belgium, France, Switzerland, Scotland, Holland, South Pacific, Hawaii, Alaska, Philippians, Gualala Cannel, the Solomon Islands and even Kansas. Jane Hull, acknowledged “the Manor staff and community appreciate the sacrifices of our local veterans and enjoyed sharing a tasty breakfast and patriotic songs with this great generation.”
