Home | Recent News | Farmington | Residents Enjoy Warm Weather Activities | Printme 01 May 2009 Residents enjoy warm weather activities April was a great month for getting outside and enjoying the springtime. Residents began a walking program. At times, they walked around the block and other times they took off to St. Joe Park and went on the walking trails. Some enjoyed their morning exercise and even a kickball game outside. Others took afternoons to enjoy the courtyard, watching turtles and squirrels. April 18, many went to the Plummer Family Theatre to enjoy “Matt and Robyn,” a comedy and country singing duo from Branson. We were given 30 free tickets to this event sponsored by the St. Francois County Senior Centers. On April 14, residents enjoyed a play at Mineral Area College. The play was “Ghost of Scapino,” a spring musical with songs such as “Heat Wave,” “Smokin’ in the Boys Room,” “Joy to the World,” “Do Wah Diddy,” “Girls Just want to have Fun” and “High Hopes.” May 1 we headed to Mastodon State Park with the children from Pages. We shared a picnic, then took a tour through the theater. National Nursing Home Week will begin May 10 with our Mother’s Day Brunch. Other activities we have planned for that week include a prom; “Hogs and Dogs” with local Harley Davidson motorcycle riders and barbecued hot dogs; Step Back in Time Day when we churn our own butter and make homemade biscuits. In addition, residents will have a picnic at a local park.
