Residents enjoy annual barbecue

Recent News

Residents enjoy a game in the park during their outing. It was a beautiful afternoon for a bit of fun.

Seventeen residents enjoyed the annual barbeque on a nice August afternoon at Dean Daniley Park. Amy McClure, food services director and other staff members served a scrumptious buffet.

The buffet included hamburgers, hotdogs, watermelon and various salads. Residents all saved room for the delicious ice cream dessert. Thanks, Amy!

After lunch the group relaxed and played games.

Henry Keay won a plant after guessing the number of jellybeans in a jar. To work off that big lunch, several people took pleasure in a game of warshers (redneck Missouri version of horseshoes). Sandi Brooks, assisted living nursing director, was the big winner with a “hole in one.”

The event’s guests included Harold and Mayme Worley, Junella Johns, John and Alice Blakely, Tom Scheifer, Hilda Yates, Opal Osborne, Henry and Mary Keay, Ed Gall, Virgil and Rose Volner, Warren and Glenda Corless, Phyllis Davis, and Matt and Peggy McClymont.

Please read your monthly calendars to find out the Cottage Club’s next lunch destination. It will be a fun event for everyone who attends.
