Hawaiian cooking contest delights all

During Hawaiian Week, we had a pineapple/coconut cooking contest.

Eleven items were entered, and each was made with pineapple, coconut or both. Judges Kathy Robert, social services designee; Janece Bacon; beautician and Ricardo Rodriquez, food services aide, sampled each of the dishes. They awarded third place to volunteer Kathy Salts’ Pineapple Angel Food Cake. Glenda McDaniel, activities assistant, received second place honors for Hawaiian Cheesecake. Fox Ridge Villa resident Edna Glaser won first place with Sweet and Sour Meatballs.
