Art is Ageless winners announced

Artists 65 and older from throughout the Clay Center community and residents from the Manor were invited to participate in the 27th Art is Ageless juried exhibit. On July 26 the works of art were judged and then an open house followed on July 27. The pieces were on display at Central Plains Title Company in Clay Center from July27 to August 6. Audrey Pfizenmaier and Lorene Peterson demonstrated their painting talent to guests and residents throughout the morning of the 27th in the lounge.

Winners of Clay Center’s Art is Ageless Exhibit are:

Painting:

  • Third Place—Evelyn King

Sculpture/3D:

  • First Place—Wayne VanSickle
  • Second Place-Fay Wirt
  • Third Place-Leona Blaske

Needlework:

  • Second Place-Marcella Bechard
  • Third Place-Vi Spurrier

Fiber Arts:

  • First Place-Nancy Doberer
  • Second Place-Luella Martin
  • Third Place-Leona Blaske

Mixed Media:

  • Third Place-Firmin Esslinger

Photography:

Best of Show:

  • Marcella Bechard’s Flower Basket Quilt

Thanks to all of the artists who participated and showed us that art is truly ageless. We wish the first place winners good luck in the Presbyterian Manors systemwide judging for the 2008 Art is Ageless calendar and cards. Art is Ageless calendar and card order forms are available online.
