Residents enjoy 'chores' on Farm Day

In July, the Manor hosted Down on the Farm Day.

The afternoon began with a family style meal followed by some fun games. Health care nurse Sarah Wadleigh churned butter while we reminisced about the taste of fresh butter and the churning process. Many folks remember the “fun” of churning.

The Kitchen Klub prepared cookies the day before and were enjoyed with some lemonade. The fishing game, egg toss, horseshoes, ring toss and bubble blowing were fun, but the cow chip toss was a big home run. Several brave ladies competed in the rooster crowing contest. Residents wore scarves, straw hats and overalls and the day room was filled with animal-printed balloons.

It was certainly something to crow about.
