Home | Recent News | Arkansas City | Quality of Life 01 Mar 2008 Hearing contributes to qood quality of lifeAccording to a 2001 study by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, one quarter of the population over the age of 65 in most industrialized nations, and perhaps more in the rest of the world, suffer from hearing loss. In addition, fewer than 10 percent of American family doctors screen elderly patients for hearing loss.
With this in mind, residents at the Manor also have the opportunity to visit with a hearing specialist each month. Christi Clark, BC-HIS, and her office consultant, Debbie Alberding, from the local Ear Care Hearing Aid Center in Arkansas City make onsite visits to the Manor to help residents clear their ears and hearing aids. Clark is Board Certified in hearing instruments and her services help residents enjoy doing what they like best a bit more by addressing hearing issues to help ensure they are hearing as much as possible. As an active living and wellness community, Presbyterian Manor offers services that enhance the lives of residents to enable them to live the way they want to live.
