According to the Alzheimer’s Association, about 5.3 million Americans have Alzheimer’s and it is now the seventh-leading cause of death in the United States. It costs the country $172 billion a year. Do you have questions about the disease? Amy Siple, associate professor at Newman University, will present a free talk, “Understanding Alzheimer’s” Nov. 5 at Arkansas City Presbyterian Manor. With a master’s in nursing and a family nurse practitioner license, Siple has the credentials and experience to present credible information. Topics will include: - What is Alzheimer’s?

- What are the latest treatments?
- How do you interact with someone who has Alzheimer’s?
- What is the caregiver experiencing?
- What resources are out there to help caregivers?
