Home | Recent News | Arkansas City | 12th Annual Golf Tournament | Printme 01 May 2006 12th Annual Golf Tournament Raises $10,500May 1, 2006 The 12th Annual Dick Metz Memorial golf tournament netted $10,500.00 for the Good Samaritan Fund at Presbyterian Manor of Arkansas City. The golf tournament is the largest annual fundraiser for the Good Samaritan Fund. This fund provides for the care of residents that have outlived their financial resources. The event kicked off with registration, lunch and a putting contest at 11:00 a.m. at the Ark City Country Club on May 20th. The event concluded with an evening awards banquet catered by Head Country BBQ. There were 17 teams that participated in the 4 man scramble. The 1st low gross winning team were Steve Ross, Bob Foster, Otis Morrow and Mike Groves. 1st low net team winners were Bill Wagner, Scott Stewart, Wayne Peters and Trish Wagner. 2nd low net team winners were Bill Ford, Mark Webb, Troy Cash, Casey Musgrove and Dan Zarala. 3rd low net winners were Don Shanks, Rex Marsh, Dan Deener and Jeff Wood. In addition to 18 holes of golf, the day’s event included a golf ball drop from a helicopter. Congratulations to our own Yazmen Wood for having the winning ball. Steve Ross, co-chairperson of the golf committee, presented Yazmen with her $1000.00 prize. Thanks to Bill Ford, Julie Grant and Brandi Barrett in assisting in the ball drop. The Home National Bank was the major tournament sponsor and Union State Bank sponsored the banquet. We greatly appreciate their generous donation.
