Benevolent Care and Services

As seniors are enjoying extended longevity, many find themselves outliving the resources they had so carefully saved. From its very beginning, Presbyterian Manors of Mid-America has been committed to supporting its residents who outlive their financial resources through special giving opportunities. Today, PMMA continues to bridge the gap for residents who have outlived their financial resources through no fault of their own.

For more information, contact the PMMA Development office at or call 800-336-8511.

Good Samaritan Program

Contributions to the Good Samaritan benevolent Care Program make it possible for residents to continue to live at their PMMA community, when they have exhausted their financial resources through no fault of their own. One in four residents living in Presbyterian Manors of Mid-America’s assisted living and health care neighborhoods are supported in some way through the Good Samaritan Benevolent Care Program. This equates to more than $4 million a year in unreimbursed care and services.

PMMA conducts mail appeals annually to support this program. The Mother’s Day Tribute is conducted in April and May. The Angel Appeal is done in mid-November through the holidays.

You can support the Good Samaritan Program directly by giving online or participating in one of the many Good Samaritan Program fundraisers at your local PMMA community. Through our online giving, you can designate your gift for the benefit of a particular PMMA community.

Capital Projects

PMMA communities also raise funds for specific capital improvement projects on their campuses.

For the residents of Wichita Presbyterian Manor, health and wellness enters a new age of opportunity with construction of a $1 million aquatic and exercise center. The Health and Wellness Center at Wichita Presbyterian Manor will be fully equipped to provide residents with organized and independent exercise and physical rehabilitation. The center will include an indoor, year-round water exercise and therapy pool; and an exercise/fitness area with age-appropriate equipment; locker rooms and a reception lobby. The pool will provide both supervised and unsupervised aquatic rehabilitation, plus a variety of group aquatics classes and opportunities for individual use.

The capital campaign seeks to raise $1 million for construction of the pool, fitness area, equipment and reception area, plus $1 million in deferred gifts. For more information, contact the development office at 800-336-8511 or
