Lifelong Learning

Engaging your mind and exploring new learning opportunities is a key aspect of aging successfully. Presbyterian Manors of Mid-America communities offer many ways to stay stimulated intellectually throughout life.

Lifetime of Learning

Our Just Ask Lifelong Learning Series offers topics of interest to seniors to the broader community as well as our residents. Just Ask topics have included wills, avoiding senior scams, balance and fall prevention, winter/summer safety, a series on Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia, healthy eating, healthy holidays with diabetes, and cancer prevention.

Every PMMA community has at least one library with a wide variety of books and magazines, many in large print editions. The local libraries often make special stops or Bookmobile visits so residents may access their resources without leaving campus.

Learn New Things While Socializing

PMMA communities also offer fun ways to stimulate the mind and learn new things while socializing with your neighbors. Transportation for group trips to local museums and attractions is provided, and often these visits include special presentations by the museums’ staff especially for our residents.

Residents also form clubs based on their own special interests, inviting in representatives from local organizations including animal shelters, zoos and agricultural groups. Many experts share their knowledge at presentations, including legislators, city managers and various arts groups.

Presbyterian Manors of Mid-America offers a lifetime of learning at your doorstep. For upcoming lifelong learning events, visit the website communities listing page for your nearest PMMA community.
