How Memorials Have Helped

Memorials to Remember Ditmore, Burnett, Gagnebin and Gilmore

Over the past few months, Presbyterian Manor of Arkansas City, Kansas has been named the beneficiary of four special memorials. The families of Howard Ditmore, Eula Burnett, Elva Gagnebin and LaVun Gilmore graciously established “Living Legacies Memorial Funds” in honor of their loved ones and the lives they touched.

Each of the memorials is special to Presbyterian Manor because they support specific charitable programs which allow us to enhance and further our mission in the Manor. The Ditmore, Burnett and Gagnebin Memorials have been designated to support the charitable care need through our Good Samaritan Program. Many times residents’ needs exceed their available resources and we rely on charitable contributions to bridge the gap for those who have outlived their resources. The Good Samaritan program helps make it possible for residents to continue to live at the Manor, regardless of their ability to pay.

Presbyterian Manor of Arkansas City provides an estimated $160,000 in Good Samaritan assistance annually. It is important to note that in all our history, not one resident has ever been asked to leave due to their inability to pay.

Ms. LaVun Gilmore’s Memorial was designated to support the Employee Christmas Fund which allows the Manor to make the holiday season a little more special for the employees who compassionately serve and care for residents on a daily basis throughout the year.

We can not say thank you enough for the charitable support we receive from the donors who appreciate and believe in our mission. These examples of Living Legacies Memorials and the families and friends who remember our charitable programs allow for our mission to grow and prosper for the seniors we serve today and in the future.

There are a number of giving opportunities available and if you would like additional information please contact the Executive Director, Sarah Griggs, at 620-442-8700 or by email.
