At Presbyterian Manor of Lawrence, our job in our Health Care Center is to empower residents to remain as independent as possible, and to help them make the most out of daily living — physically, socially and spiritually — despite the effects of declining health. We provide them with options to choose from whether it’s their mid-day meal or joining others on an excursion, or even when they want to get up in the morning. We want them to feel at home and bring with them family photos, a favorite quilt and items to decorate their room in a way that helps them make the transition into a health care environment.
What families find is that their parents are in qualified hands to provide the care needed for the best possible quality of life. We “sweat the details” and do our best to ensure that the services and support are provided to make the best of your loved one’s abilities.
Our staff receives training through the Alzheimer’s Association to understand and recognize residents experiencing early stages of memory loss, which assists us in helping you should a specialized program be necessary. A full range of physical, occupational and speech therapy services is available among other services to assist in maintaining or regaining as much independence as possible.
Programs and activities may range from exercise to a game of checkers to a picnic in the park. On-site conveniences include: Rendevous Room, Gift Shop, chapel services, health, social and educational programs, and transportation. Whatever your perception of a nursing home, we think you’ll find we’re much more than that. We invite you to visit to see our health center and see for yourself.
Whether joining us short-term to recuperate from an illness or injury or long-term, we are proud of the reputation we’ve earned for caring about our residents. Care and services are provided based on an individualized plan with nursing services available 24 hours a day. With six levels of care, we are able to adjust to meet residents’ needs as their health may change. We use the evaluation system required by the State of Kansas and Medicare to measure each resident’s capabilities and physical health to determine the appropriate level of care. Our health care center is Medicare certified for short-term recuperative stays. And we have a full complement of rehabilitation therapy services to assist in recovery.
We’re not the only ones who think our health care is exemplary
What family members find is that their parents are in caring, qualified hands to provide the nursing care and services needed for the best possible quality of life. We hear it so often: “my Mom sure gets good care,” or “we’re so glad Dad is at the Manor.” Programs and activities keep residents connected to the community and contribute to their well being.
Health Care Center Cost
Long-term care policies may cover many of the costs involved. The best way to determine what costs might be involved would be to speak directly with us and schedule an assessment. We can help you understand costs and ensure you are comfortable with every aspect of your decision.
