You’ll find employees in our Whispering Meadows memory support neighborhood who understand the needs of caring for someone with Alzheimer’s, dementia and related illnesses. We start out with training provided through the Alzheimer’s Association and continue training on an ongoing basis which covers the special needs of residents with memory loss or dementia. You’ll find they care about each resident they work with.
It shows in the many little things we see each day: the time to listen to a resident’s recollection of a past event, the affirmation of a resident who has tried something new, or a vase of flowers in a resident’s apartment.
Employees in Whispering Meadows memory support are on-site 24 hours a day to provide round-the-clock care and assistance. All of the people who work with your loved one are informed of their plan of care to provide the support needed. You are an important part of this as well.
Family members are invited and encouraged to participate in care plan meetings and are kept apprised of any changes that may be needed. Your input on the experiences and interests that brought your loved one joy is helpful in providing programs that serve their needs.
